Nearly four years after the PS5’s debut, Sony has introduced the PlayStation 5 Pro, a mid-generation upgrade now available starting at $700. This enhanced console includes a 2TB SSD, a GPU that’s 45% more powerful, and 2-3x faster ray tracing capabilities, along with PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology. Although PSSR won’t support PS VR2 at launch, a future update is expected to add this neural upscaling feature, which works similarly to NVIDIA’s DLSS.
What the PS5 Pro Means for PS VR2 Games
With the PS5 Pro, developers have the potential to increase frame rates or refresh rates for PS VR2 titles. However, Sony has confirmed only two PS VR2 games with a PS5 Pro patch at launch, with one developer stating their patch is already live. Below, we’ve also listed any upcoming titles with confirmed PS5 Pro support.
Several additional PS VR2-compatible games, including Gran Turismo 7, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Resident Evil Village, have received PS5 Pro patches. It’s not yet confirmed if these improvements extend to VR gameplay or are only for standard screen modes. We’ve reached out to Sony and Capcom for more information, and for now, we’ve excluded them from this list.
Here’s the current list of PS VR2 games with confirmed PS5 Pro enhancements.
